Our vision: "To make the world greener, one space at a time"
Are you are a busy professional, pre-occupied parent, student or small business owner? Do you enjoy plants but lacking green finger skills?
At Tipu & Mana, we remove the stress by providing personalised care for your plants in the comfort of your own home or office, so that you can relax and enjoy your own lush green paradise..
Aloe there!
I am Richard, a plant enthusiast based in Basel, who started building my own indoor green space six years ago. From a mere handful of plants, today I have grown my green space to reach over 50 plants and covering 20 species. As I started helping my friends with their plants, I realised I could spread joy to people and make the world greener, one space at a time. My love for plants started much earlier. The photo shown here is me when I was 5 years old, standing proudly next to my first daffodils that I looked after.
Whether you are on holiday or away for an extended time, or too busy and not sure how to provide good care, I can help you enjoy the lush greenery without the fuss. From watering to repotting, as a one-off or regular service, we can find the best solution for you.
Unbeleafable results guaranteed: take it or leaf it!

What in the name?
In the native language of New Zealand (Te Reo Maori), Tipu means 'plants' and Mana means 'spiritual power'. New Zealand is recognised globally for it's nature and contribution to biodiversity, with over 80,000 endemic species. Having first visited the beautiful country in 2013, I discovered and fell in love with the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park (an unassuming hidden gem, 40-minutes drive from Auckland nestled along the coastline - see some photos of the region below). I have always been drawn by the lush bounty that you can find in the rainforests in this stunning region.
Tipu and Mana is an attempt to create and bring the same essence to urban people in the comforts of their own homes. Mana or 'spiritual power' is complementary to Tipu, because there is something spiritual and comforting about plants. They too are living beings, just like you and me (which is why I love the quote above by John Koheo). As modern-day people, we are often too busy to take the time to admire their natural beauty, their complex existence, and the indescribable powers they can bring into our lives.
